Uniquely identifying all current and historic Whisky Hammer lots provides unparalleled transparency. Comparing the results to other auction houses and retail shop prices unveils new buying and selling opportunities, while the detailed whisky information and consumer ratings supply additional insights.

New Opportunities

Like every auction house, Whisky Hammer caters to a unique audience of buyers and sellers. Some brands and releases are more popular at Whisky Hammer than anywhere else, while others receive far less attention. This results in price differences and exciting buying and selling opportunities.

New Price Points

Roughly 85% of all auction lots on Whisky Hammer are single whisky bottles, translating to more than 112 thousand new price observations added to the Whiskystats database. With almost every fourth bottle on offer (23,3%) being a Macallan release, the focus on Macallan at Whisky Hammer outweighs that of the overall auction market (12,1%), as shown in the recently released 2022 Whiskystats Insights Report.

In 2022, eight thousand different whisky releases were on offer at Whisky Hammer. Remarkably, more than 1,5 thousand were unavailable at any other tracked auction house last year. These releases include the Macallan 30yo Prometheus Batch 4, the Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch 3, and the 750ml version of the Compass Box Rogues’ Banquet.

Independent bottlers are underrepresented on Whisky Hammer. Only 10,5% of the 2022 whisky lots were not original distillery bottlings, compared to 23,8% in the overall market.

Whisky Hammer is operating from the UK. The buyer fee is 10%, while the seller’s commission is 5%. For sellers, there is a listing fee of £5 and an optional £7,50 for lots with a reserve price. These auction fees are comparable to other auction houses, as seen in the whisky auction houses overview.
